---------- Message below from the 2018 fundraiser --------------------------------------------
On 9/22/2018 a fundraiser was held in honor of our amazing young man named Max Sweeting while raising funds and awareness to combat Cockayne Syndrome (CS). Thank you to everyone who was able to help make this day special for Max and for donating so we could help support and care for families dealing with this disease.
After 10+ years and hundreds of doctors appointments, we received Max's diagnosis of Cockayne Syndrome. We had never heard of it, did not know anyone who had it, and were pretty much left with a "what do we do next?" mindset. SHARE & CARE NETWORK was our "what's next" step. Through Share & Care we met the few doctors doing research and offering answers and treatment plans for our kids. Secondly, and just as importantly, we met and connected with the families of other children with CS. It was so important and reassuring to receive the support and love from these families. THEY HAVE MADE SUCH A DIFFERENCE IN OUR LIVES! All of the money raised through this event will be used to help families travel from wherever they are in the world to our annual conference to receive the same love, support, and information we received 10 years ago.
Thank you for your support.
